Todos Santos South
We move to another beach : Playa de Los Lobos where swimming is less dangerous.
Christophe, François and Thierry play in the big waves like kids .
That's also the beach from where fishermen start early in the morning, to come back in the afternoon with their catch of the day.
We buy red snapper and tuna fish from them and they prepared the filets for us, so we just have to cook them.
So good and so fresh .
The whales and the rays keep playing in the ocean as the pelicans and seagulls wait for the fishermen to come back to get some fish.
The only disappointment is that taking pictures or making videos of the whales is quite impossible. They're too far away !
Todos Santos North
We keep going south.
We make a stop in La Paz to get food and then we go to Todos Santos.
Founded by italian and american artists, this little village lays in a quiet oasis of palm trees.
Long white sandy beaches and blue ocean make it idyllic.
We choose "Playa Pastura" for our bivouac., a well known surf spot with huge waves.
A big suprise on our arrival : our friends Brigitte and Gottfried, that we met in the Sates, are there. What a pleasure to see them again!
We spend our days whale watching : a festival of "nuptial parade" where the whales jump out of the water and beat the surface of the ocean with their tail.
We could watch them for hours ( and so did we !)
Our evenings are shared with our friends, drinking margaritas !
Tecolote
A long and monotonous road takes us to " Tecolote ", 25 km north of " La Paz ".
No tel and no internet, we have to climb up a hill to connect and tell our family we're still alive.
The view we have from the top is gorgeous.
The Balandra Bay offers a "degradé" of blue and green.
During our stay, Yumie and François join us
So we have nice evenings with the six of us, each one cooking it's favorite recipe
Risoto for Thierry, rice pudding for Jean Pierre
Relaxing three days, not doing much but reading, enjoying the beach and hiking
Ciudad Constitucion
We spend two days in a camping in which we're the only guests : coconut trees, lawn, swinming pool : it's a very refreshing oasis.
That's the opportunity to clean and wash the camper which really needed it.
Puerto Lopez Mateo
We, once more, leave the " Cortez sea " to join " Puerto Lopez Mateo " on the pacific coast.
Shielded by the offshore barrier of " Isla Magdalena " Puerto Lopez Mateo is one of the best whale watching sites.
During the season, the narrow waterway that passes by town becomes a veritable " Baleina " cruising strip.
We won't see any of them. They did'nt arrive yet.
We find consolation drinking magaritas with Thierry and Corinne !!!
