Tecolote Beach
We go early to the mechanic who does a test on the spot and tightens two or three bolts and the case is over.
For him, we don't have to change the clutch... everything is perfect... that's good news.
After a supply of water and food, we return to our favorite beach.
We stay there for three days but the nights are very windy and we are shaken like plums ... difficult to sleep the whole night through.
Battery
Very calm night. We are surrounded by American motorhomes that take up the entire waterfront without worrying about the Mexicans who come to spend the day.
They are all owners of one or more dogs that they let loose and that spend their time barking and chasing each other.
Little miracle... This morning the solar panel battery charging indicator is working... Yesterday evening we removed the cover and checked the fuses... maybe a bad contact.
We spend the day enjoying the good weather (30°) and finishing cleaning our friend.
At the end of the afternoon we return to La Paz to look for our second solar battery. Verdict : battery in perfect condition, no need to buy a new one.
We stay in la Paz because, on the way out, Christophe felt a weakness in the clutch .... It has never been changed and the odometer shows 260,000 km.
Foresighted, Christophe had already bought a complete clutch kit last year that we had brought back.
We need to find a specialized garage and ask the manager of the battery store for an address.
It's 6 p.m. and the garages close at 5 p.m.
A quiet little evening.
Back to our camper
After breakfast the storage manager who comes to pick us up at 8:30 am.
We are a little anxious... how will we find our child?
It is dusty outside and sparse inside. We are happy to have him back...we missed him a lot.
Everything seems perfect except that the electric outdoor step doesn't want to go up...no worries Christophe takes out his state-of-the-art tool case and dismantles this one and greases all the parts...but that doesn't change anything.
The manager allows us to clean the camper on site, which allows us to clean it well and fill up with water.
We fold the foot step manualy to be able to drive and we realize that the solar batteries are empty and do not recharge or very little.
A friend of the manager comes to test the batteries and his prognosis ... Low battery .... We knew that!!!
We decide to stock up on supplies and look for a battery specialist.
We drop off one of the two solar batteries to have it tested and reach our favorite beach "Playa El Tecolote".
To save the only battery left, we spend the evening under the light of a camping lamp.
Back to the source.
Back to Baja California
Last trip on our way back.
To reach "La Paz" we booked a flight on Volaris Airline, a very well known low cost in Mexico.
The day before our departure we received an email offering us to postpone our departure for a day by benefiting from a voucher of 3,300 pesos and telling us that the company reserved the right to change our flight to one the next day at 6.45 am.
Beeing used to this kind of situation, we decide to arrive early enough at the airport to be among the first one registered, in order not to be denied for boarding for "Overbooking" reason.
Everything is going very well; the plane is one hour late and there are still empty seats on board!!! Ununderstandable.
To reach our hotel near the airport, we take a taxi which cost us a fortune, just for 5 km... almost the price of a trip to the city centre. We have no other choice.
We had booked a hotel near the storage where our motorhome is parked.
After checking in, we go to our assigned room ... A storage room with a single window overlooking the hallway and near the laundry room which is working at full speed.
The bedspread is stained and the neo light gives us a "gloomy" impression.
Immediately Christophe returns to the reception which offers us another room on the first floor, brighter and larger.
We dine at the hotel and go to bed early
