Tequila
Our hotel
Chapala
Hugo's garage
Tlaquepaque / Tonalà

We have an appointment at Hugo's at 9 a.m. to drop the camper off.

It is a family business specialized in diesel engines for trucks.

Christophe shows the video and explains the background and they immediately get to work.

Hugo tells us that the repair will take a day and a half....And that he will keep us informed of the progress of the repair.

We book a hotel in Tlaquepaque which we reach at the beginning of the afternoon and we revisit this very touristy town.

Our hotel is a beautifully decorated little gem .... a multitude of objects compose a colorful patchork.

On Eduardo's advice, we dined in the "Casa Luna" restaurant... a sublime meal in such a colorful setting.

Return to the hotel without any news about  our camper.

After a very quiet night, we have a hearty breakfast, which is a change from the one we had on the ferry!!!

9.30 a.m. Hugo tells us that the camper is ready and  is waiting for us.

Back to the garage, we get informed  about the repair and we pay a bill of  130 euros....

We’re back on the road  to Morelia
Chapala

Our arrival is scheduled at 7 am.

Christophe goes to get coffee and we have breakfast in the cabin.

We are sailing in thick fog and at 8 o'clock we have not yet arrived... we are beeing told that we have to wait for the opening of the port which is closed due to bad weather... .

All in all we disembark at 10 o'clock ... under a superb sun !!!!

It takes us two days to reach the Chapala lagoon and the camper regained power.

We don't force the engine too much.

We know this little town by the lake well, and on weekends it is the vacation spot for the inhabitants of Guadalajara who come with their families to have lunch or dinner ... Very lively evening until 1 a.m. !!!

We fell victim to a small scam when we stopped to refuel: the employee billed us for refueling in euros and not in pesos... result  : the exchange rate increased 5 %
Baja California

We reluctantly leave our favorite beach and Baja California.

This is not the first time we use this ferry company.

Summoned 3 hours before departure, i.e. 4 o'clock in the afternoon, customs control, weighing of the motorhome and separation between the driver and the person accompanying him.

Everyone gets on board differently: Jean Pierre is on board immediately and he is given the key to the cabin. As for Christophe, there is still more than an hour and a half in full sun to wait before boarding.

We had planned a small aperitif in our cabin with Serrano ham, cheese and olives, all accompanied by a good Chilean wine.

Unfortunately the company checks the bags and refuses the wine on board... We managed to save the donuts for the morning!!!

It's 5:30 p.m. and dinner is announced at 6 p.m.... on the menu tonight: sautéed pork, rice, tortilla and jelly for dessert accompanied by a Pepsi.

Closing of the restaurant at 7 pm .... time at which our departure is planned.

There's nothing to do on board, so we go to our freezing room and both of us work on our computers.

It's so cold that we keep our jogging tops on and put two blankets each on our beds.

What a cruise!!!
La Paz

As usual we are on time for our appointment.

While waiting for Noah's arrival, a horde of stray dogs rush into the street and attack the local residents' dogs. We are used to it since it was the same scene on Tecolote beach.

Noé gets to work and Christophe explains to him the history of our breakdown.

We recontact our mechanic in France who gives us some leads to follow.

Result: Noé confirms the failure:; the turbo regulator. What Mario thought.

He cannot carry out the repair for lack of special tools but can make a temporary repair. He advises us to go to Guadalajara to his uncle who will be able to solve our breakdown.

So we have to take the ferry between La Paz and Mazaltan and reach Guadalajara.

We leave Noé who gives us an explanatory video on the origin of the breakdown and we go to the agency of the "Baja Ferry" to reserve our crossing on the 24th of march.

We contact Hugo in Guadalajara to set up an appointment on the 29th.

In the meantime, we return one last time to our beach
