Waiting.

In order to continue our odyssey, it is imperative that we cancel the "TIP" supention with customs in order to obtain a new one.

Before our departure, Christophe had contacted Héraldo to find out the steps to follow to obtain a new TIP.

His answers seemed strange to us and we wondered if he knew his subject well.

We connect to the Peruvian customs site and find the answer to our questions.

The request for cancellation of the suspension, the plane ticket, the rental contract and a copy of the police report must be sent by e-mail to the customs office, at the border post where we entered.

We send everything the day after our arrival to the storage and wait.

We’ll have to wait for a week ... We are stuck in this village, 1h 30 min away from Lima, with nothing to do ... Fortunately, the weather is nice and warm.

In the meantime, we have several exchanges with customs and especially a manager in Lima who is very efficient... Instead of sending us a customs agent to check the motorhome, he decides to do everything by whatsapp in video ... Fortunately!!

On the new TIP it is mentioned that the observation was made by video conference because of bad weather conditions and the distance to travel !!!

For us, the most important thing is to be in good standing with customs regardless of the reason given.
The 3rd day.

We leave the hotel at 9 am towards Cieneguilla.

Heraldo and his family are waiting for us as planned and the reunion is moving ...

Our camper awaits us and it looks beautiful and clean outside.

As soon as we arrive, we begin cleaning the interior.

We spend the evening with Heraldo, his family, his brother and a couple of Argentinians on their way to Alaska.

On the menu: pizzas prepared by Heraldo .... Everything is homemade with different combinations ... We won’t eat everything!!!  A real treat.
The second day.

The night is short, waking up at 6 a.m.

Our flight to Lima is scheduled at 10:15 am and after a hearty breakfast we board on time.

We arrive in Lima after 12 hours and 51   minutes in flight, and some severe turbulence, including one during the meal (the crew had to join the roller!!!)... Christophe didn’t like it at all !!

We spend the night in Lima to avoid arriving at the storage at night...
The first day back

Finally the D day has come.

We return to Peru to join our camper who’s waiting for us.

We are still loaded ... 3 suitcases, 1 large bag, the camera bag, the 2 computers and the cabin suitcase.

We carry 30 kg of spare parts: front shock absorbers, various filters, brake pads and other small parts.

We leave our house by taxi to the bus station.  Yes !  we take the coach to Barcelona.

Initially we wanted to take the train, but looking at  the fares, 300 euros for 2, we opted for the  coach, for 50 euros for the  two of us ... !!!

The journey takes 4:30 hours instead of 3:30 with a 30-minute stop on the highway.

We take advantage of this stop to eat and when we try board, the driver can no longer open the door... After several attempts the situation remains the same and we find out that he had left the keys inside.

Fortunately, a woman was sleeping on the bus ... On the driver’s advice, she starts the engine to unlock the door !!!

Despite this misfortune we arrive at the scheduled time in Barcelona and we go to the airport.

We have 4 hours to wait and we spend them in the lounge to taste " bocadillos de jamon", charcuterie and Spanish cheeses ...

Our flight is late and we will arrive in Paris at 11:30 pm in an almost empty terminal.

We’re heading to the ibis hotel.
