Zipolite

It's hard to leave our camping in " El Tule ". The owners were such nice people. " Pepe " and his family have been incredibly friendly, doing their best and even more to respond to our desires.

That's the best camping site we've been in in Mexico.

We're joining the Pacific Coastline taking the road which looks the less difficult on the map.

According to our GPS it should take us 4h30 to drive the 260 km.

But it's without taking in account :
* a huge thunderstorm which made us stop for 1 hour.
* a narrow winding road where the maximum speed is 30 km/h
In the end it takes us 8 hours and we arrive...exhausted.

We find a beach where to stay in " Zipolite ".

This ancient " Baba Cool " resort has kept its " Hippie " atmorphere. All along the beach,  lowcost guesthouses welcome the backpackers.

The first night there is our first experience of a tropical storm, level 2.

At 5 am, lighting and thunder, incredibly strong wind and buckets of water made our camper swing in all directions. After 1 hour, we decide to move the camper and try to find a hotel to protect us from the fury......at 10 am, it's over....

It's the raining season, we know that !!!

We spend 2 weeks there, inhaling the smell of " Herbes de Provence " that all the neigbours smoke !!!

It's also a way of catching up with our reading and to pratice our spanish. We spend most of our time under a " Palapa " watching the huge waves of the ocean.....It's a wonderful world !

We met quite a lof of people and especially " Miriam and Fabio ", a spanish couple whose company was great.

Miriam becomes our spanish teacher and Jean Pierre improves very much. Thanks for her patience and kindness.

Internet and Phone hardly exist here.

We explore the surrounding and especially :

* Cooperative Ecoturista La Ventanilla : A boat trip into the mangrove where we saw crocodiles, iguanes and some birds. It was not unforgettable, but it was a nice little tour and our contribution to restaure the mangrove devasted by a hurricane in 2012.

* San agustinillo : Superb beach fringed by coconut trees ans small lovely restaurants. European atmosphere.
