Puerto Varas
It’s Sunday and stores are closed except for food stores.
As we have to fill the US gas cylinder, and the dealer is closed, we do not go back on the road immediately.
This allows us to make a refueling and cleaning the camper that needs it after 2 months and a half spent in an outside storage.
Puerto Montt
We take off on 5 April from Auckland at 8:10 pm to Santiago de Chile.
After an 11 hours flight we land in Chile on April 5 at 3:04 pm ... We arrived before we left!
After the border police check, we have to pick up our luggage for the second flight to "Puerto Montt".
We wait in front of the conveyor belt for our luggage which does not arrive ... It stops ... There are no other deliveries... We ask a hostess to please check ... Two seconds later she shows us a photo of our two suitcases on her smartphone indicating that they have been directed to another belt and that she has just asked for their transfer to the correct belt!
We pick them up and find that one of our suitcases has a red tag on the label ... That means we have to go through customs for a check ... This one is quick.... It’s only a scan check ...
After this long transfer, we register our suitcases on the next flight.
Fortunately we have a 3 hours transit!
Finally, after a flight of 1 hour and 45 minutes we arrive at our destination where our travelling companion is waiting for us... It is a real motorhome with correct dimensions, spacious and painted in white, more discreet color than the green "Cetelem " !
What a joy to find him back...
