We Today, we cross the South of Colorado , direction west through teh San Juan Mountain.
We easily climb up to 3295 meters high under a clear blue sky that highlights the autumn colours.
The afternoon is devoted to shopping and laundry.
Great Sand Dunes National Park
At the feet of the Rocky Mountains, beetween the "San Juan" and the "Sangre de Cristo" summits, opposite winds have sculpted the highest sand dunes of North American at an altitude of 2500 meters.
In this unrealistic landscape, we take a two day rest, relaxing and expmoring the dunes.
Everyday, we can enjoy superb sunrises and sunsets over the snowcovered mountains.
The nights are only troubled by the coyote's howl.
Garden of the Gods
Manitou Springs is our next destination to make the excursion on the Pikes Peak Cog Railway, a little rack train that goes up to the summit at 4302 meters.
Unfortunately, it's closed for the season.
We, instead visit teh Garden of the Gods, an ancient sacred territory belonging to the UTE indians.
It's a nice little track amid red rocks.
