On the way to Mazatlan
The bad weather pushes us to leave the mountainous region of Oaxaca and leave with regret our French friends who are waiting for their new passport.
Our goal is to reach the "Baja California" where the temperatures are higher.
We made an apartment exchange " RCI " for the last fortnight of August before returning to France. We’ll get there sooner but the sun is calling!!
Puebla: first step where we don’t stay ... we do ourshopping in the superb "Soriana" very well stocked with European products ... good wines and Spanish chacuteries
Morélia: we stay there for two days to flank in this small town very provincial. We find the French patisserie where we buy the famous "pineapple pie"... a real treat.
Then we head to the Pacific Ocean, which we reach in two days. We cross beautiful mountainous regions.
We use the highway to avoid the famous "Tope or Dos d'Ane" the scourge of the Mexican network.
La Manzanilla: two days in a hotel-campsite by the ocean. Beautiful green location We enjoy being at the sea and to have lunch in a fish restaurant on the beach. We are the only foreign customers!!!
We also find summer temperatures .... what a pleasure!!!
Teacapan: still by the Pacific Ocean, we camp in another camping hotel where we are the only guests.
It is low season and the pandemic is not helping. Tourism professionals are complaining, American attendance has dropped by 70%.... It does not bother us, we love beeing on our own!
The weather is uncertain but we have nice sunny days.
The first hurricane known as "Enrique" heading north from the Costa Rican is announced. It is ahead of schedule for the season.
It passes quite far from the coast, however we suffer strong gusts of winds that force us to move the camper to shelter behind houses two consecutive nights .
Since our arrival we do not always have internet and telephone. It is not really a pain, we do not follow the news and so we are not stressed by the pandemic.
Mazatlan: last night on the mainland before taking the ferry. Prices increased a lot ... more than 40%.
