One of our best days.

We finish our tour by the road of 7 lakes ... A wonder.

The "Camino de los Siete Lagos" is a section of the famous road 40, which stretches from the village of "Villa la Angostura" to "San Martín de los Andes".

The 107 km of the course is full of magnificent landscapes, typical of the Patagonia of the Lakes: forests of coihues, lengas and ñires, snow-capped peaks or majestic lakes create an environment of breathtaking natural beauty.

We land in the late afternoon not far from "Bariloche" for our last day in Argentina.
San Martin de Los Andes

We continue our loop to " San Martin De Los Andes "

It is always sunny and we cross a natural mountain setting where it is possible to ski in winter.

Nestled in a narrow valley, this picturesque mountain village is framed by the majestic Andes Mountains, the Lanín National Park and the pleasant shores of Lake Lácar.

The surrounding natural space exudes a rather confusing and striking beauty.

We stay two days at the lake to maintain the camper and work on the site and films.

We visit the "Pastera Museo Del Che" which retraces the life of the famous "Che Guevara".
Maleo

On the way to Lanin Nation Park

Created on 11 May 1937, this park is also one of the most beautiful in Argentine Patagonia.

Classified as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage in 1981, the park is home to forests of the Valdivian and Andean-Patagonian regions, as well as a particularly rich biodiversity.

Known for its well-maintained and uncrowded hiking trails, it is also known for its very poor quality gravel roads.

It is probably for this reason that the hiking trails are empty!

We try to make a small walk towards a church avoiding if possible the dust clouds.

Not a very pleasant day as we end up on the edge of the rio " Maleo "
Junin De Los Andes

As there are so many tourists ... It’s summer vacation ... We give up the idea of visiting the "Parque Nacional Nahuel Huapi".  We plan to visit it on our return from New Zealand.

We are heading to the " Parque Nacional Lanin ".

To do this, we take a route that turns out to be a wonder. Little described in tourist guides this route crosses through gorges and green valleys.

We stop in the middle of the afternoon at the edge of a river.

Little scare of the day: At each gas station there is a long queue ... What’s going on? ... Nothing, just the area is invaded by tourists and there is not much petrol stations ... Ouf !
Bariloche

It’s Sunday and the "Circuito Chico" is our day tour.

It is 65 km long and one of the most popular in the region.

To keep the camper from moving we take the bus ... Finally we hope to take the bus ... Several buses pass but do not stop ... Full!!!

We quickly understand that the day is  gonna be difficult .

We wait for about 1 hour at each step, to end up taking " Uber "

The first stop is at the "Cerro Campanario" where you will find "L'Aerosilla" a chairlift that takes us up to a panoramic viewpoint on the "Lago Nahuel Huapi".

The view is breathtaking.

We are not alone ... a long queue winds its way through the path.

Then, on the advice of the tourist office, we reach the "Colonia Suiza" village created by the first Swiss settlers

Once we arrive at our destination, we find ourselves in a "gingerbread fair"!!! A tourist trap. It is a mixture of restaurants and shops of all kinds installed in dust.

We have lunch late and decide to leave

The return is as laborious as the outbound. There are not enough buses to board travellers and "Uber" is non-existent.

We feel like we’ve spentall  our day waiting. Too bad.
Bariloche

Another beautiful day and a beautiful road to reach " Bariloche "

Before reaching the city, we stop in the storage that we found to leave our companion during our trip in " New Zealand ".

We are wellcome and the site corresponds exactly to the description

Originally, Bariloche was a small village created by German and Swiss emigrants.

The alpine atmosphere, wooden chalets and national chocolate capital make "Bariloche" a European city in the heart of the Andean landscape.

At the various sites of "camping-carists" there are numerous alerts for theft and vandalism in our vehicles...  This city and its surroundings are known for these crimes

Generally the watchword is " Do not leave your camper without supervision " !!!

To keep the mind at ease, we set up in a special camper parking near the city center.

After a visit to the tourist office to know the means of transport to visit the surroundings, we walk along the main street.

Chocolate houses and ice cream shops are the main stores ... Of course we can’t resist the call of an ice cream! The main street is called "Rue du Chocolat"!!!

On the way back we buy a bus card to use the city network.
Lago Puelo

Very quiet night and awakening under a bright sky.

Today we plan a visit to the "Parque Nacional Lago Puelo"

This park of 27,674 hectares of forest and steppe is one of the examples of remarkable Andean-Patagonian landscapes: cypress of Patagonia, trees of the Valdivian forest, lauraceae, eucryphiaceae.

Created in 1971, it was previously an annex of the Los Alerces National Park.

We walk through this park by two small hikes, then we land on the edge of the "Rio Azul" , a favorite place for fishermen.
Leleque

The repairs are done and the test on the road is conclusive, we can continue our journey.

Before leaving Esquel, we do a drain and buy brackets for the exhaust that threatens to fall apart.
We continue north on a beautiful road. The sun is present and the landscapes of mountains and plains
follow each other.

On our way we visit the small historical museum of " Leleque ", isolated in the countryside.

Located in the estancia of Leleque, it opened its doors in 1998 and traces the history of Patagonia from prehistoric times to today. It houses collections that address the following themes: indigenous peoples, the encounter of the two worlds, colonization and the pioneer era.

We talk with the museum manager who allows us to stay on site to enjoy the wifi.

We are not alone: the police are there all night to connect on internet ... It is the only place around where wifi is present!!!
